Cash and check payments are accepted. Or you can also pay by credit card directly with your Midwife.
And you CAN use your HSA!

Your out-of-pocket expenses can range from $1000 – $7,000. Please schedule a consultation to review our fees and any insurance coverage that you may have.
Insurance Coverage
It’s so easy to use your benefits when you birth at the Birth Center! Because of our Birth Center, many insurance companies pay on claims just like they would for a hospital birth!
When we put in your insurance info into the insurance billing agency’s website, they call and get your benefit run down and let us know what your insurance will cover and what they will not. Then we can let you know.
Most of the time, the billing agency is able to get good payments for our fees, even for home births!
We use Midwives Advantage Billing Agency to bill and collect for your services and they are amazing to work for! They do all the work and make it very easy for us and you. Or we can do it for you as well.

Mermaid Birth is an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies, and we find we receive better payments from insurance companies when we are not contracted to charge specific amounts.
We are in-network for Cigna and United. We do work with Molina.
Also, for those with insurance that only covers in-network providers, you can request an in-network exception because of our Birth Center. But this is only necessary if we find that your insurance company won’t pay out of network providers at all. Most do pay in or out of network.
If you have a very large deductible, having an out-of-hospital birth can be BIG savings.

Payment received on your behalf from your insurance company, reimbursement, or any other amount due will be settled after all payments are finalized.
Midwives Advantage Billing Service charges a 35% commission on what is collected minus the deductible.
Midwives Advantage is a 3rd party biller. They bill on the client/patient’s behalf.
Your insurance benefit is a contract between you and your insurance company.
Guarantee of payment cannot be made.
Also, Medicaid can be utilized by billing the State for laboratory work, chiropractic care, and ultrasound(s). Utilizing these covered services can result in a $225.00 deduction from the total birth fee package.
